Data Center Engineer
Position Description
Gruve is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage our next-generation data center infrastructure. This role will focus on networking, compute, and storage solutions with an emphasis on AI-ready infrastructure to support high-performance workloads. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data center networking, software-defined networking (SDN), high-speed interconnects, and cloud integration, with knowledge of Cisco Data Center technologies and Arista as a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering & Architecture
- Design, deploy, and manage high-performance data center networks with low-latency, high-bandwidth architectures.
- Configure and maintain Layer 2/3 networking, VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, and SDN solutions.
- Optimize high-speed interconnects such as 100G/400G Ethernet, InfiniBand, and RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE).
- Ensure network reliability, scalability, and security through automation, monitoring, and best practices.
Compute & Storage Infrastructure
- Work with compute infrastructure, including GPU-accelerated environments for AI workloads.
- Collaborate with storage teams to integrate high-performance storage solutions (NVMe, SAN, NAS, object storage, and cloud-based storage).
- Design and implement solutions for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and disaggregated computing.
AI & Cloud Integration
- Support AI/ML workloads by optimizing network fabrics for distributed computing and model training.
- Work with hybrid and multi-cloud networking strategies to enable seamless data movement and workload orchestration.
- Integrate with AI-ready data center platforms, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
Automation & Operations
- Automate network deployments using Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, ensuring 99.99% uptime and optimal performance.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- • 5+ years of experience in data center networking, compute, and storage infrastructure.
- • Expertise in networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN, etc.).
- • Strong knowledge of Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or NVIDIA networking solutions.
- • Experience with high-speed storage fabrics (NVMe over Fabrics, Fibre Channel, iSCSI).
- • Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure and GPU-based compute architectures.
- • Proficiency in automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking and service mesh solutions (Istio, Calico, Cilium).
- Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIE, or AWS Advanced Networking.
